Tom Cruise attending daughter Suri's 15th birthday was quite literally a Mission Impossible earlier this year. The 59-year-old action superstar and face of the Mission Impossible movie franchise was unable to attend Suri's birthday celebrations in NYC back in April, with a conflicting schedule seeing the dad of three all the way across the Atlantic ocean and in the U.K. Tom, who was in Pickering, North Yorkshire as he shot Mission Impossible: 7, was even spotted by locals. Scroll for photos. Tom welcomed Suri with ex-wife Katie Holmes - the former couple was married from 2006 and 2012 and only shares one child. Suri's 15th was this year celebrated in the Big Apple, also on social media, where mom Katie took to Instagram, writing:
"Happy 15th birthday sweetheart! I love you!!! I can't believe you are already 15!!"
Per Hollywood Life, the former Dawson's Creek star's daughter celebrated her 15th with ice-cream in NYC. Tom, meanwhile, was earning his mad cash at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

While local bed-and-breakfast owers were thrilled to see the Hollywood heavyweight, others also flocked to the press over their sighting.
“’How amazing to walk down to the beautiful Levisham Station, a short walk from the Design Farm Studio and see him and the crew rehearsing a stunt for the new Mission Impossible movie on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway," one member of the public told The Daily Mail, adding that Tom had been friendly with a big wave as he hopped into his helicopter.
Close Bond With Suri
Suri's 15th birthday photos, showing her in bootcut jeans, a white top, super-stylish open black leather jacket and carrying both an ice-cream cone and a bouquet of flowers, came minus mom Katie as the teen hung with friends.

In mid 2019, a Hollywood Life source reported:
"Tom never intended to be estranged from his daughter when he decided to have a family with Katie and looks forward to repairing the relationship one day.”
Tom and Katie went public in 2005 following the actor's split from Australian actress Nicole Kidman. Suri arrived one year later. The marked lack of public sightings with Suri has led to speculation that Tom's Scientology is not allowing him a relationship with her - Suri is not a Scientologist.
