There's no doubt that the nation's largest pyrotechnic show of the year will happen in New York City. In 2021, the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks celebration is back and will be bigger and brighter than ever.

"Live from New York City, five barges positioned on the East River will launch an epic celebration that will inspire a renewed sense of hope and optimism among our fellow New Yorkers and viewers nationwide," executive producer Will Coss said in a statement.

More than 65,000 shells will be launched into the air starting at about 9:25 p.m. local time on Sunday, lighting up the skyline with a brilliant display that Coss promises will be "spectacular."

The National Mall in Washington, DC will be hosting a splendid fireworks show this year running from 9:09 to 9:26 p.m. Those looking to enjoy the spectacle in a more private setting away from the crowd can choose between a number of scenic vantage points along the Potomac River.

As always, the show will be preceded by the A Capitol Fourth event, a star-studded concert hosted this year by multi-platinum recording artist Vanessa Williams. The list of performers for the 2021 festivities includes Jimmy Buffett, Cynthia Erivo, Alan Jackson, Pentatonix, Jennifer Nettles, Auli’i Cravalho, Gladys Knight, Mickey Guyton, Ali Stroker, Jimmie Allen, Laura Osnes, and many others.

“As families and friends reunite and the country begins to open up this Fourth of July, we plan to bring you an exciting program with the greatest fireworks display in the nation, performances by the biggest stars and patriotic favorites,” said executive producer Michael Colbert.

The annual Freedom Over Texas celebration in Houston will be drawing in the crowds with an unforgettable fireworks display this Fourth of July. Perfectly choreographed to music, this year's pyrotechnic show will surpass anything Houstonians have ever seen.

"Fireworks will reach 800 feet, almost doubling the height of the traditional show, for more to enjoy from further away," said the organizers, noting that "open spaces and neighborhood parks with a view of the western downtown skyline are ideal" for viewing the show.

The majestic fireworks will be coupled with a live music show opened by Jimmie Allen, with Lee Brice as the headliner. Also performing are American Idol's Alanis Sophia, local musicians Brian Jack & the Zydeco Gamblers, and the Houston Symphony.
