Happy Star Wars Day! May The Fourth Be With You

Happy Star Wars Day! May the Fourth be with you.

Every year, Star Wars fans celebrate the annual holiday by dressing up in old costumes, making nerdy jokes, and re-watching their favorite movies from George Lucas’ famous series. This year, however, there’s a little more to be excited about.

Star Wars was recently sold to Disney and there is plenty of buzz about the new movies.

Here’s what we know so far. Star Wars Episode 7 will be directed by J.J. Abrams, produced by Kathleen Kennedy, and written by Michael Arndt. That’s a pretty powerful behind the scenes cast.

Abrams has already revived the Star Trek franchise, Kennedy has been the driving force behind movies like Jurassic Park and Back to the Future, and Arndt has penned scripts for Toy Story 3 and The Hunger Games.

The knew Star Wars movie will also see some input from George Lucas. Yahoo reports that the series creator will be a Creative Consultant on the new movie.

Other than that, not much is known about the new movie.

Of course, there are a few rumors floating around.

The biggest rumors are about the cast. It hasn’t been confirmed yet, but Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher are all likely to return. At the moment they’re being quiet about their involvement but Lucas said earlier this year that the contracts were nearly finished.

There is also a rumor floating around that John Williams will return to score the new movie.

There may not be a lot known about Star Wars Episode 7 but we do know a lot about Disney’s production plan. Disney is planning to release a movie, including spin-off movies, every year for the foreseeable future.

Happy Star Wars day everybody. May the fourth be with you.
