Harry Connick Jr. May Become ‘Idol’ Judge

Is Harry Connick Jr. heading to American Idol? The singing show could be going through a couple of changes next season and the famous New Orleans crooner is reportedly high on Fox’s list.

Connick Jr. is currently acting as a guest mentor on the show and he’s quickly become popular with fans. Many people are hoping that Connick Jr. moves from his mentor position into a judge’s chair. Fox seems to be hoping the same thing.

Connick Jr. said: “You know, they kinda wanted to know if I would be interested in it … It’s been talked about before, who knows what’ll happen in the future.”

Connick Jr. may consider joining the show but it doesn’t seem to be high on his priority list. The famous musician will be going on tour this year and his music is a little more important to him than the reality show.

The singer said: “I’m going on tour this year so, like, when would I do it? It’s that kind of thing … There were a lot of things going on on their side and a lot of things going on on my side with just stuff. It’s hard to make a commitment like that.”

Rumors have been circulating this month that executives were looking to replace Mariah Carey with Jennifer Lopez. Fox denied the rumor last week but it looks like there could still be some changes coming to the show.
