Hip-Hop Producer AraabMUZIK Shot During Attempted Robbery


Hip-hop producer Abraham Orellana, better known as AraabMUZIK, was shot on Wednesday night. The apparent victim of a botched robbery attempt, the producer survived the altercation and is reportedly recuperating in an undisclosed hospital.

AraabMUZIK first gained notable attention across the internet for his use of MPC drum machines. Videos spotlighting his talent for live beats and instrumentals eventually resulted in collaborations with high profile hip-hop artists such as The Diplomats, Cam’ron, and Busta Rhymes.

While details of the incident have not been confirmed, representatives for the hip-hop producer released a statement after he was shot, assuring fans that he is on the mend.

“Rumors have begun to circulate and first and foremost, we want to let everyone know that AraabMUZIK is currently alive and well,” the statement explained.

“He was out in his neighborhood last night with friends and unfortunately the victim of being in the wrong place at the wrong time,” AraabMUZIK’s team wrote. “He is recovering now and police are investigating the crime.”

The statement also addressed the hip-hop producer’s gratefulness to fans for their concern and support, and indicated that a swift recovery from the gunshot is expected.

Much of the information publicly circulating about what led the hip-hop producer to be shot has been gathered from internet postings by people close to AraabMUZIK.

The most descriptive narrative of the event was issued via Twitter by Avatar Darko, a rapper who recently collaborated with the producer on the song “Vampire.”

“[Pray] for my bro Araab! He just got shot but he’ll be alright! He’s strong!” Darko wrote early Thursday. “My lil brodi too trill! They tried to rob him and he ain’t come up off his s**t so they tried get him outta there! He meant to be here! Foh!”

AraabMUZIK’s manager George Moore, better known as label executive and producer DukeDaGod, also took to the internet after the hip-hop producer was shot. He posted an Instagram photo of Orellana resting in a hospital bed surrounded by friends. The picture was accompanied by a caption which read, “Everyone wish my brother @araabmuzik a healthy & pleasant recovery!!!!”

At this time, no arrests have been reported in connection with the shooting. Police are reportedly in the process of investigating the details behind what caused the hip-hop producer to be shot.
