Reese Witherspoon And Jim Toth Plead Guilty


Reese Witherspoon and her husband Jim Toth both plead guilty today.

TMZ reports that Witherspoon plead no contest to disorderly conduct while her husband Toth said that he was guilty of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Witherspoon and Toth were pulled over last week after officers noticed them swerving down the road. When the vehicle was stopped, Witherspoon tried to use her celebrity status to get out of the ticket. Witherspoon said: “Do you know who I am?”

The actress, who said that she was embarrassed by her behavior, did not appear in court today. Her lawyer, Bruce Morris, entered the guilty play on her behalf. Witherspoon was ordered to pay a $213 fine for her disrespectful behavior.

Toth received a slightly stiffer sentence. Toth won’t see the inside of a jail cell but he will have to perform 40 hours of community service. The judge also ordered Toth was also placed under 12 month probation and was ordered to attend an alcohol education class.

The judge said: “Consider yourself fortunate you didn’t injure your passenger [Reese] and didn’t kill anyone.”

Witherspoon’s reputation took a bit of a hit after her arrest but the aftermath of her actions well. She appeared on Good Morning America this morning and said that she took full responsibility for her actions. Witherspoon also said that her husband exercised poor judgement when he decided to drive home.
