TLC Announce Details Of Comeback Concert

TLC have announced the details of their first concert in four years.

The girl group will play at The Mixtape Festival in Hershey, Pennsylvania, which will take place at Hersheypark Stadium, from July 26-27. They will be playing alongside New Kids On The Block, Boyz II Men, and Hanson.

It has been reported that this will be the band’s first show since 2009, when they played in Japan. It was reported, last year, that the group were looking to play alongside a hologram of Lisa ‘Left-Eye’ Lopes who tragically died in a car accident in 2002, in Honduras.

Singer, Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas remarked at the time, “The hologram is something we talked about and thought about years ago, obviously timing is everything but we’re definitely talking about it.”

Discussing the process last year, Chilli stated, “It will be hard on us but I certainly think our fans would love to see it. We would definitely be the first group to ever do it. I think we would probably pass out and all of our fans would break down but it’s amazing how real the hologram looks, it’s almost like you can touch the person.”

It was even thought that the group would perform as part of a full-scale tour, and there were even discussions that they would perform new songs during their rendez-vous.

This would coincide with a forthcoming biopic on the group, who alongside Chilli and Left-Eye consists of Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, which was set to air on VH1 later in 2013.

T-Boz and Chili last performed together in 2011, when they appeared on American Idol, whilst a muted tour in 2012 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes’ death never materialised.

In November the pair collected the award for outstanding contribution to music at the 2012 MOBO awards, traveling across the Atlantic to the United Kingdom to collect their prize too.
