Anne Hathaway Isn’t Headed To Broadway

Anne Hathaway isn’t quite ready to make her Broadway debut.

Although recent reports suggested the award-winning actress was set to star in a stage production of Cabaret, her representative explained that these rumors are false.

The folks at the Daily Mail exclusively reported yesterday that the Les Miserables star was all set to make her Broadway debut. The website explained that Hathaway would star alongside Alan Cumming in the production of Cabaret.

However, the article has since vanished from the internet. This might have something to do with the fact that the story isn’t exactly true. According to Anne Hathaway’s representative, the rumor was “completely false.”

Publicist Stephen Huvane wrote in an email to the New York Times that the actress currently has no plans to star in the Broadway production of Cabaret.

“There is no commitment whatsoever for her to do ‘Cabaret,'” There are no discussions going on about this project for Anne,” Huvane explained.

The Roundabout Theater Company is currently planning a revival of the musical at Studio 54 next year. Actor Alam Cumming is expected to portray M.C., a role that won him a Tony award back in 1998. Composer John Kander said that details are still being hammered out.

Anne Hathaway can be seen next in The Dark Knight Rises star Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s directorial debut Don Jon. The actress has a small role in the movie. According to Internet Movie Database, Hathaway will simply portray a “movie star.”

The actress will star alongside Chloe Moretz and Sam Rockwell in director Lynn Shelton’s Laggies. The movie tells the story of a woman who lies to her fiance in order to spend some time with her friends. Since the film is still in pre-production, it’s unclear when the movie will arrive in theaters.

The Les Miserable star is also reuniting with director Christopher Nolan for his upcoming science fiction flick Interstellar. The movie also features Matthew McConaughey.
