‘Vanilla Ice Goes Amish’ To Premiere This Year, Twitter Reacts

Vanilla Ice Goes Amish is set to premiere on the DIY Network later this year.

The show is a spin on the house-flipping program the rapper debuted nearly three seasons ago. The series will send Robert “Vanilla Ice” Van Winkle into Amish country to learn some new skills from a handful of famous woodworkers at an Ohio Amish community.

Sripps Networks Interactive’s Burton Jablin said the success of The Vanilla Ice Project prompted execs to order the new series. He added that the show should arrive towards the end of 2013.

Vanilla Ice Goes Amish isn’t the only new show featuring a celebrity that’s looming on the horizon. The DIY Network and HGTV announcement included shows from Reverend Run, Daryl Hall, and Bronson Pinchot.

Jablin explained:

“Our new series showcase star talent and help viewers create their most personal place by turning their ‘house’ into a ‘home.’ New celebrity driven vehicles and ‘hybrid hour’ programs highlight the three things our viewers love the most — real estate, renovate and decorate. In addition, we offer options for viewers who prefer voyeuristic programs with a fantasy lifestyle spin.”

Vanilla Ice has appeared on a handful of reality shows over the past few years. In addition to The Vanilla Ice Project, the rapper appeared on The Surreal Life, Celebrity Bull Riding Challenge, Dancing on Ice, and Celebrity Boxing.

Not surprising, the announcement of Vanilla Ice Goes Amish has left quite a few people scratching their heads. Many of them immediately took to Twitter in an effort to share their thoughts and feelings with the world.
