Cop Photo Goes Viral After 2-Pound Joint Gets Confiscated

A photo of a cop went viral this weekend after the 4/20 rally in California. Why? Well, it probably has something to do with the 2-pound joint that he’s carrying.

Medical marijuana is legal in California and officers typically turn a blind eye to some of the questionable activity that takes place on 4/20, but they couldn’t ignore a massive 2-pound joint.

Even if the joint was rolled with legal medical marijuana, it still exceeded the amount that one person can possess in California.

According to the Christian Post, Californians can not legally carry more than one ounce at a time.

Chief of Police Nadar Oweis told reporters that he’d like to shut down the entire 4/20 rally but that he doesn’t currently have the resources to do so. Instead, the police force is working to make sure that people are safe on the annual marijuana holiday.

Oweis said: “It’s not that we don’t want to shut it down, but it’s tougher because we have limited resources and the high cost it would take to completely stop the event, is not something we have right now.”

Here’s a look at the viral photo of the cop and his 2-pound joint.

This isn’t the only cop photo to go viral this week. The internet is currently sharing a photo of a Boston police officer delivering milk after the explosion last week.
