Khloe Kardashian Won’t Be Returning To ‘X Factor’ For Season 3

After a couple of months of rumors and speculation, it has been officially confirmed that Khloe Kardashian will not be returning to The X Factor as a host next season.

It was initially reported in February that the youngest Kardashian sister, who had no previous experience on live TV, had been fired from the show. Her hosting debut on Halloween was deemed “awkward,” and the 28-year-old failed to impress viewers in subsequent episodes.

The show’s producers confirmed the news Monday, saying, “Khloe Kardashian will not be returning to co-host The X Factor. We really enjoyed working with her and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.”

Mario Lopez, who was hired along with Kardashian in October 2012, will be hosting the singing competition solo. The 39-year-old, who is expecting his second child with wife Courtney Mazza, was excited to be hosting the series’ third season.

“I’m looking forward to returning to The X Factor team,” Lopez said in a statement. “We’re coming back stronger and better than ever and I’m excited to check out all the new talent.”

Judge Simon Cowell was also pleased to see Lopez returning for hosting duties, saying, “I’m thrilled Mario is back for Season Three of The X Factor. Hosting a live show and keeping the judges – especially Demi [Lovato]– in line, is not an easy job, but Mario is a pro and we are glad he’s coming back.”

Currently, Cowell and Lovato are the only two judges returning to the competition so far. L.A. Reid and Britney Spears both decided not to return for the next season, and Hollywood Life reports that Cowell has his eye set on Lady Gaga to fill one of the vacant positions.
