Cameron Diaz To Make ‘Sex Tape’ With Jason Segel [Report]

Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel might be re-teaming to make comedy gold once again. The actress is reportedly in early talks to star in the upcoming comedy Sex Tape alongside her Bad Teacher leading man.

Sex Tape would actually be a three-way reunion (and we promise the innuendo ends there, maybe). Bad Teacher director Jake Kasdan and co-star Jason Segel have already signed on for the film, with Diaz reportedly interested in starring.

Escape Artists will produce the movie, the story of which concerns a married couple who: ” take a night off from their kids and decide to spice up their love life by making a sex tape.”

Of course, it wouldn’t be a raunchy comedy if something didn’t go horribly wrong.

“When they wake up the next morning, the tape is missing, prompting them to figure out who took it and how to get it back.”

Yes, sex tapes do have a tendency to just up and walk away.

In any case, Diaz was reportedly the ideal female lead for the film as of at least a year ago, but negotiations are actually happening now, and a deal is expected.

The script is based on a spec written by Kate Angelo, and the film will be produced by Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch of Escape Artists.

Diaz’s next gig will see her starring opposite Colin Firth on CBS Films’ Gambit, a remake of the 1966 film of the same name. She will also star in Ridley Scott’s The Counselor, an upcoming thriller which also stars Michael Fassbender and Brad Pitt.

Bad Teacher was a sleeper hit in 2011, grossing $216 million on a budget of $20 million. The film received mixed reviews, but its popularity with audiences translated into a CBS pilot (with Ari Graynor taking over the title role).

Do you think that Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel make a good comedy team?
