Wife Cuts Off Husband’s Penis, Chucks It Into Garbage Disposal

A California wife allegedly cut off her husband’s penis and then chucked it into the garbage disposal where the vital organ was mangled beyond repair.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, science studies claim castrated men live longer. A Dutch Catholic Church even used castration as a “cure” for homosexuality.

But none of that is likely to help 50-year-old Catherine Kieu, who is going to trial for allegedly cutting off her husband’s penis back on July 11, 2011. Orange County Deputy District Attorney John Christl said Kieu was angry because her husband was dating a former girlfriend. When the alleged crime took place, both had filed for divorce while they continued to live together in the husband’s Garden Grove home.

Prosecutors are claiming Catherine Kieu drugged her husband with sleeping pills in his food, tied him to a bed, severed his penis with a 10-inch kitchen knife, and tossed the penis into a garbage disposal. Prosecutors played audio in court from a voice-activated recorder. In this recording, Kieu is allegedly heard yelling “you deserve it” three times before the attack. If Kieu is found guilty, she faces felony charges of torture and aggravated mayhem, with a sentencing enhancement for the personal use of a knife.

The husband, whose name was not reported, was treated and released from the University of California Irvine Medical Center. Doctors were unable to reattach his penis, which was mangled beyond repair by the garbage disposal, but the performed a surgery which allows him to urinate.

The husband testified that his wife cutting off his penis was like ending his life:

“She murdered me that night. I will never have a sex life again. My mental state is improving, but it may never be what it was before.”

In defense of Catherine Kieu, Deputy Public Defender Frank Bittar told jurors that Kieu’s traumatic childhood in war-torn Vietnam caused a mental illness they hope might prevent her from conviction on the charges of aggravated mayhem and torture. They also claim the husband subjected Kieu to sexual and verbal abuse.
