Kathryn Erbe Returns To ‘Law & Order’ For May Episode

Kathryn Erbe returns to Law Order: Special Victims Unit for an episode of the long-running show, reviving her character that had left with with the end of the show’s Criminal Intent spinoff.

Erbe returns for an episode that will air May 8, playing her character Alexandra Eames.

She has Ice T to thank for the appearance. He reportedly came up with the idea of having Erbe come back to help out his character, Fin. Eames comes to help out the sex crimes unit when someone related to Fin’s past returns and causes trouble for the SVU detectives.

That person causing trouble? It’s reportedly rap artist 2 Chainz.

“There’s a lot of bad blood from Fin’s past involved in it,” executive producer Warren Leight said.

Ice-T came up with the idea after seeing how much fans liked an earlier story arc where a detective’s sister is stalked by an angry ex-boyfriend, causing trouble for the entire SVU unit.

“He said, ‘I saw after that Rollins-and-her-sister episode, the fans really like it when we’re in harm’s way,’ ” Leight said. ” ‘And don’t forget, I used to be a narcotics officer. There’s got to be a lot of people who want me dead.’ ”

Law Order: SVU has brought on some other big names this season. Paget Brewster came over for the season premiere after completing a six-year run on Criminal Minds.

She was a guest star in the episode, playing the head of the District Attorney Office’s Public Integrity Unity investigating the case against Captain Cragen (Dann Florek). In the Season 13 finale, it appeared that Cragen was set up for a murder, and it was revealed the Brewster had a checkered past of her own that affected her handling of the case.

Kathryn Erbe returns to Law Order: SVU after spending 10 years on the show’s other spin-off franchise.
