Katy Perry Selling Mansion She Once Shared With Russell Brand

Katy Perry is putting her mansion up for sale on the open market, giving a bit of closure to her failed marriage with Russell Brand.

The couple had bought the Hollywood Hills mansion together for $6.5 million in 2011, a year before they split. The giant estate boasts seven bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. In the divorce, Brand transferred to Katy Perry ownership of the mansion.

Katy Perry has actually been trying to sell the mansion for some time now but finally decided to put it on the open market on Monday. Putting the property on the market seems to be a move of desperation by Katy Perry, who wants to unload the mansion that the couple bought but never actually lived in.

The three-acre property would seem to be quite a catch. Built in 1921, the mansion is close to the Chateau Marmont and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Storer House. The mansion also has 8,835 square feet of living space including two guest homes, a carriage house, and a massive pool complete with a waterfall.

Inside the house has stained-glass windows, a stone foyer, and a carved fireplace mantel.

If Katy Perry does sell the mansion, there is still at least one more vestige of her failed marriage. She and Brand still own an apartment in New York that has languished on the market for quite some time.

Perry may want to be rid of the home so she can focus on her artistic endeavors. She is reportedly working on a new album and has also signed a multi-million dollar book deal. She will reportedly write a pen a tell-all autobiography that covers several aspects of her life. The book’s working title is Part of Me, the same name as Perry’s 2012 concert film.

Katy Perry is selling the mansion for $6.925 million, looking to make a small profit. Zillow notes that using its mortgage calculator, the monthly payment on the home would be $24,471, assuming a 20 percent down payment and a 30-year mortgage.
