Ryan Gosling Once Played Spin The Bottle With Britney Spears

Ryan Gosling revealed that he once played spin the bottle with Britney Spears.

The busy actor is currently out promoting his latest cinematic effort The Place Beyond the Pines. During his interview with The Sunday Times about the project, Gosling revealed that he and Spears were once good friends.

“Britney was a sweetheart. She lived right above me, the girl next door. The little girl I used to play basketball and spin the bottle with,” the actor explained.

Although Britney Spears and Ryan Gosling starred in The Mickey Mouse Club together, fans shouldn’t expect them to collaborate on anything down the road.

Gosling added, “I mean, sometimes you are at the same event, but it’s a lot like I imagine what it’s like to run into someone from elementary school.”

The actor has discussed a number of topics while promoting his latest motion picture. He recently spoke to the folks at Complex about the character he plays in the film.

Although many people have been quick to draw comparisons to Drive, Ryan Gosling believes that The Place Beyond the Pines is much more realistic. While both films deal with violence, the actor explained that the movies approach it from different angles.

Gosling explained:

“I feel like they are very different movies. ‘Drive’ is a very surreal film, more of a dream. And [‘The Place Beyond the Pines’] is a film all about consequences and the ramifications of your actions. In Drive, I could smash a guy’s head in an elevator and you never hear about it again, while in this there are only two shots fired and they resonate throughout the entire movie. I felt like the Driver was not a real person, and this character is someone that is very much kind of a mess or a disaster of a person.”
