‘Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon’ Slated To Arrive This May

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is expected to arrive this May.

Although many originally thought the title was some sort of neon-soaked April Fool’s Day joke, it would appear that Blood Dragon is the real deal. Fans should be able to take the adventure out for a spin beginning this May.

While Ubisoft is keeping specifics under wraps for the time being, some details have managed to find their way to the surface. Perhaps the most entertaining aspect of the entire project is the fact that frequent James Cameron collaborator Michael Biehn will star in Blood Dragon.

Reports also suggest that players won’t be required to own Far Cry 3 in order to appreciate the add-on. Blood Dragon is expected to be a standalone title when it drops on May 1.

The following synopsis can be found at the Xbox Live Marketplace:

“‘Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon’ is THE Kick-Ass Cyber Shooter taking place on a bizarre open-world island crawling with evil. Welcome to an 80’s VHS vision of the future. The year is 2007 and you are Sargent Rex Colt, a Mark IV Cyber Commando who’s fighting against a cyborg army gone rogue. Your mission: get the girl, kill the baddies, and save the world. Experience every cliché of a VHS era vision of a nuclear future, where cyborgs, blood dragons, mutants, and Michael Biehn (‘Terminator,’ ‘Aliens,’ ‘Navy Seals’) collide. Playing ‘Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon’ doesn’t require a copy of ‘Far Cry 3.'”

Although details have only emerged for the Xbox 360 version of the game, it’s currently believed Blood Dragon will also be available for Playstation 3 and PC. Ubisoft has yet to confirm any rumors about the title as of this writing.

This bizarre Far Cry 3 expansion should be available to gamers on May 1. However, it’s unknown how much the game will cost when it is finally launched.
