‘Carrie’ Remake’s New Official Trailer Released

Carrie is back and she’s not someone to be trifled with. The film’s official trailer has just been released and sheds some serious light on the re-imagining of the Stephen King movie.

Chloe Grace Moretz plays the titular character who is a lonely young girl just trying to make it through high school. Her ability to just make it through the day is heavily impacted by her mentally disturbed mother who is being played by Julianne Moore this time around.

The movie makers have been slowly but surely rolling out teasers and images to show how they have beefed up the remake of a movie that was first released in 1976.

Carrie is directed by Kimberly Peirce and Peirce says that the is trying to stick closer to the book than the first movie managed to do. It appears that the remake or re-imagining will also have a little more action and a slightly less clueless title character.

There are still plenty of the old reliable parts of the first film and the book, because including those probably guarantees that fans of the first film will come see this one.

Famous lines like “they’re all going to laugh at you,” are highlighted in this new trailer as well the tampon pelting that goes on in the girls’ shower.

Perhaps most interesting is that this trailer shows Moretz discovering her powers and reveling in them a little bit more than the original movie did.

Of course, the fact that she is harnessing and focusing her powers also means that she will be quite a bit more powerful when her anger gets the best of her.

That little detail is far more loyal to the book.

The Carrie remake is due out on October 18, are you planning on going to see it?
