Kardashians Suing Ex-Stepmother Over Father’s Diary, Family Albums

The Kardashian sisters are suing their former stepmother over her possession of their late father’s personal items including his diary and family photo albums.

Robert Kardashian, who was a member of O.J. Simpson’s criminal defense team, married Ellen Pearson two months before he died in 2003. Pearson said her late husband gave her some of his personal items before his death, and, in January, some passages from the journal were printed that claimed the girls’ mother and Kardashian’s first wife, Kris Jenner, abused the sisters when they were children.

In one particularly damning entry, Kardashian writes, “Kris was kicking and beating her and said she was going to kill her! Kim was hysterical. Kris then got on the phone and said, ‘Kim if you don’t get up here right now you are dead!’ ”

The sisters have vehemently denied the accusations against their mother, but Pearson wouldn’t back down and continued to say the journal was authentic and that she had the right to do whatever she pleased with it.

“I am simply stating the facts and the truth — their father’s truth,” Pearson said. “I simply delivered hand-written diaries from their father. They are my property at the disposal of whatever I so choose. Robert would have no problem with that.”

Now Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian are launching another attack against the fourth Mrs. Kardashian. The sisters filed a lawsuit against Pearson in California federal court Thursday. The suit says that Pearson has started a “despicable and unlawful scheme to hold in secret and convert, and now exploit … private personal and copyright protected.”

The complaint also claims that Kardashian left the “bulk of his personal tangible and intangible property” to his children, including his only son, Robert Kardashian, Jr. The sisters are claiming that their father’s personal effects are “incontestably” their inheritance. The Kardashians are suing Pearson for conversion and copyright infringement. They are asking for at least $500,000 in damages as well as any profits, statutory damages, and exemplary and punitive damages.

The sisters’ lawyer Martin Singer told The Hollywood Reporter, “Today’s filing should serve as notice that they will vigorously defend their rights when forced to do so.”
