Rick Ross Apologizes For Rape Lyrics In U.O.E.N.O, Women’s Right Groups Protest

The Rick Ross “rape lyric” in the “molly sex assault” song is causing the notorious rapper to apologize to fans and business partner Reebok.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, back in January the rapper Rick Ross, whose real name is William L. Roberts, was supposedly involved in an early morning drive-by shooting that caused him to crash his Rolls Royce into a building. 50 Cent claimed the Rick Ross shooting was fake, but police confirmed the bullet holes in Rick Ross’ Rolls Royce were real and the Gangster Disciples, who previously made death threats against Rick Ross, were under investigation.

The MMG CEO Rick Ross claims he’s not one for apologies according to his last album title, God Forgives, I Don’t. But now the Rick Ross rape lyrics in the song U.O.E.N.O have earned an outcry. This is what Rick Ross raps in that song:

“Put molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it. I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it.”

Nita Chaudhary, co-founder of UltraViolet, a women’s rights group organized a protest against Rick Ross and Reebok. Chadhary explains the reasoning for this action:

“By holding Rick Ross up as something to aspire to, Reebok is sending the message that raping a woman is cool–and that’s a dangerous message to send the boys and young men that Reebok markets to. This is what rape culture is. Reebok needs to know that we won’t stand for this. Will you sign the petition telling Reebok that rape is NEVER okay and they should drop Rick Ross right away?”

Rick Ross attempted to explain the rape references during an interview:

“There was a misunderstanding with a lyric, a misinterpretation. I would never use the term ‘rape’ in my records and as far as my camp. Hip-hop don’t condone that, the streets don’t condone that, nobody condones that.

Rick Ross also apologized on Twitter, saying he does not condone rape:

Do you think Rick Ross is referring to rape in his lyrics?
