Taylor Swift To Appear In ‘New Girl’ Season Finale

Taylor Swift has some more wedding crashing to do — only this time it’s not a Kennedy clan event, but the Season 2 finale of New Girl.

Producers at Fox announced that the country/pop singer will be making a guest appearance on this hit sitcom as a guest at the wedding of Cece (Hannah Simone) and Shivrang (Satya Bhabha). The 23-year-old Taylor Swift will play Elaine, who is being called an “important guest.”

Taylor Swift was famous for some wedding crashing in real life, when she and then-boyfriend Conor Kennedy reportedly went to a family wedding this summer without permission.

It will be a strange guest spot of sorts. Taylor Swift the singer has been referenced on the show before, like in a recent episode when a flustered Jess (Zooey Deschanel) told Nick (Jake Johnson), “I just want to listen to Taylor Swift alone.” Later, when pining away for Cece, Schmidt (Max Greenfield) said he was experiencing a “Taylor Swift-like range of emotions.”Taylor Swift won’t be the first famous female to do a guest spot on New Girl. Earlier in Season 2, Project Runway judge and The Daily Show correspondent Olivia Munn signed up to play the love interest of Jake Johnson’s character. Olivia’s appearance created a snag for fans who want to see Nick and Jess getting together, though the relationship between Munn’s character and Nick lasted only a few episodes.Munn described her character as “sexy, earthy, charming,” and as Nick’s new girlfriend able to “hold her own with the group.” It’s unclear what Taylor Swift’s connection to the group will be, but writers have a knack for creating strong-willed and humorous guest stars. New Girl has had a thing for models, too. The character Cece is a model , and America’s Next Top Model‘s Keenyah Hill also signed on to play a love interest of Jake, though her role was eventually re-case for Carli Gugino.

Taylor Swift will reportedly film the New Girl season finale over next week.
