Beyoncé’s Gay Marriage Support Note: ‘Put A Ring On It!’

Pop star Beyoncé’s gay marriage stance is supportive, the internet learned for sure yesterday, as the singer joined in social media efforts to advocate for marriage equality.

It would seem Beyoncé’s gay marriage position proved popular, and the artist hit up some big networks with her red paper, handwritten show of support.

Over on Instagram, Bey grabbed nearly 220,000 “loves” for the scrawled support missive, in which she wrote “if you like it, you should be able to put a ring on it,” before appending “we will unite for marriage equality” with a hashtag.

On the photo-centric social network, Beyoncé’s post proved not universally popular however, with some fans and followers unsupportive. Comments ranged, but most seemed to agree with Beyoncé’s gay marriage position:

“please don’t tell me that [you’re] lesbian”

“can’t wait either! Hopefully than people will realise it isn’t hurting them, and not everyone is their religion”

“you can’t tell me that God created everything and everyone and at the same time say he hates gays and didnt create murders and pedophiles. You know for a fact he hates gays? He told you? bc last time i checked, God didnt hate. Dumb.”

“That’s honestly the main reason that I believe in separation of church and state because not every believes in the same stuff and people came here so they could have those freedoms. These people are using the bible as an excuse for everything and its not about that.”

“exactly. It seems they pick and choose which sins are worst”

Over on Facebook, the note got more than 115,000 likes and over 30,000 shares, with most agreeing with Beyoncé on gay marriage.
