‘Star Wars’ ‘Rise Of The Hutt Cartel’ DLC Trailer And Release Date Announced [Video]
Star Wars: The Old Republic just got new DLC announced. Rise of the Hutt Cartel has a trailer and a release date.
Star Wars: The Old Republic is getting its first DLC in April. Rise of the Hutt Cartel will be released publicly on April 14, but if you pre-ordered the add-on by January 7 or earlier, you can get a jump on it April 9.
Star Wars: The Old Republic: Rise of the Hutt Cartel raises the level cap to 55, adds a new planet called Makeb, and uses conversations with actual voices. It hits at the same time as update 2.0: Scum and Villainy, which adds new content and achievements. The Rise of the Hutt Cartel DLC will sell for $20, or $10 with a subscription.
A hit since its release, Star Wars: The Old Republic hit the shelves two years ago to favorable reviews, selling in excess of 2 million copies in the first three months.
The trailer begins with several spacecraft sitting above the planet Makeb as an announcer starts in, “Citizens of Makeb, this is … an important message from the Hutt Cartel.” We see a small spacecraft fly into a futuristic city carved from cliff sides and such, and what appears to be a Hutt barge like the one in Return of the Jedi. Immediately after the announcer pauses, an explosion rocks the entrance to what looks like a public shopping mall. Spiderlike creatures are seen resting near a waterfall.
The announcer continues, “Any directives issued by the Hutts or their representatives are only designed to protect you during this time of transition.”
We then see a laser firefight between plain-clothes fighters and soldiers wearing masks (possibly rebels and bounty hunters). A woman gets shot down, and the firefight continues.
The rest of the trailer is below.
