Tina Fey Asks For Role In ‘Anchorman 2’

Tina Fey’s plate sure is full. When she isn’t promoting her new film Admission, she’s on Inside The Actor’s Studio doing her (arguably the best) Sarah Palin impression. Fey isn’t done taking over the world, if going by her interview with co star Paul Rudd. She also wants a role in Anchorman: The Legend Continues.

Anchorman 2, which is the continued saga of anchorman Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), is currently filming and Fey has voiced wanting in on the film. In an interview between Rudd and Fey for Moviephone’s Unscripted, Fey dreamed up a character for herself that would fit in nicely for the Anchorman sequel.

It all started when she asked a fan question to Rudd, that asked the actor to find a character for Fey to fit into the Anchorman universe. Fey exclaimed, “This is such a good question!”

Tina Fey stole the question from Rudd and thought out loud how she could fit into the Anchorman universe:

“I could be a mean office manager or something. I could be the lady who lost her bobcat because there will be a lost bobcat. I auditioned for the Christina Applegate role in Anchorman. That’s all I got.”

We have to admit, we would love to see Tina Fey join the Anchorman 2 cast. So far the cast is very well rounded with a Who’s Who of actors including, Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, James Marsden, Harrison Ford, Christina Applegate, Meagan Good, Kristen Wiig and Luke Wilson.

The sequel directed by Adam McKay and written by Will Ferrell, will continue to follow Ron Burgundy in his adventures of being anchorman for channel 4.

Even if Tina Fey doesn’t make it into Anchorman 2, she’s already set to have a busy 2013. She has an upcoming role in The Muppets…Again!, is rumored to be developing a project for NBC, and who knows what else will be announced in the coming months.

Tina Fey isn’t the first person to want in on Anchorman 2. We also reported that actress Meryl Streep also wanted in on the film as well.
