New Toyota Recall Affects 2.3 Million Cars

Toyota has continued its run of bad luck with a new Toyota recall in North America affecting 2.3 million cars.

The new recall is voluntary, and is said by Toyota to correct a situation in which the acceleration pedal could stick without a floor mat.

“Our investigation indicates that there is a possibility that certain accelerator pedal mechanisms may, in rare instances, mechanically stick in a partially depressed position or return slowly to the idle position” Toyota said in a statement.

The cars in the 2010 Toyota Recall are

• 2009-2010 RAV4,
• 2009-2010 Corolla,
• 2009-2010 Matrix,
• 2005-2010 Avalon,
• 2007-2010 Camry,
• 2010 Highlander,
• 2007-2010 Tundra,
• 2008-2010 Sequoia

If you have one of these vehicles, you should contact your local Toyota dealer to arrange for the repairs to be undertaken.
