George Clinton Divorce Could Turn Ugly

George Clinton and his wife Stephanie Lynn are getting divorced.

Clinton and Lynn have been married since 1990 but they’ll soon be going their separate ways.

Clinton filed for divorce this week in Florida. The funkmaster claims that he and his wife haven’t been living together for years, they own no property together, and don’t share any bank accounts. The 70s icon says that the relationship is “irretrievably broken” and is hoping for a quick divorce.

Lynn, however, isn’t going to walk away empty handed.

Lynn disagrees with Clinton’s assessment of their relationship and is asking the musician to submit his finances to the courts so that they can determine how much money she is entitled to in the divorce settlement. Lynn is asking the court to grant her permanent alimony.

A judge has yet to rule on the case.

Lynn and Clinton have been married for close to 23 years but they never had any children together. Clinton does have two children, however, from previous relationships.

Clinton is most famous for the American funk groups Parliament and Funkadelic. He was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 1997.
