Penelope Cruz’s Baby Bump Debuts In Barbados

Penelope Cruz Baby Bump

Penelope Cruz’s baby bump made its debut in Barbados one month after the actress announced she would be a mom for the second time.

Cruz proudly flaunted her growing bump in a black string bikini while on vacation earlier this month. The Pirates of the Caribbean actress, along with husband Javier Bardem are expecting their second child later this year.

The couple already has one son, two-year-old Leo. Penelope Cruz announced her pregnancy in February and from her latest photos, it appears the actress was able to conceal her pregnancy for longer than Kim Kardashian and Kate Middleton.

Along with her string bikini and baby bump, Penelope Cruz also sported silver hoop earrings. However, the actress went sans makeup, which was probably a good decision given the locale.

Cruz previously spoke about motherhood and how the experience of having little Leo changed her life. The actress stated:

“From the first second, you feel so much love. It is a revolutionary experience. That’s the best way I can describe it. It transforms you completely, in a second. Nature is very wise and gives you nine months to prepare, but in that moment, when you see that face, you are transformed forever.”

Penelope Cruz and her family were reportedly staying in the Sandy Lane Hotel’s two-bedroom Garden Orchid Suites during their stay in Barbados. The suites cost more than $1,000 per night. While Cruz and her son Leo hung out at the beach, Bardem was nowhere to be seen.

It isn’t surprising that Cruz waited to long to announce her pregnancy to the world. She told Vogue in June 2011, five months after she gave birth to Leo, “I want my son — and my kids if I have more — to grow up in a way that is as anonymous as possible.” She added, “The fact that his father and I have chosen to do the work that we do doesn’t give anybody the right to invade our privacy.”

Given the size of Penelope Cruz’s baby bump, it is likely the actress is due in early to mid-summer.
