Obama Wants To Put On A Fake Mustache, Hang Out In Israel

President Obama has a simple wish — he just wants to put on a fake mustache and hang out around Israel without being bothered.

Speaking to Israeli Channel 2 on the eve of a visit to the Middle Eastern nation, Obama was complaining that he had lost all anonymity and couldn’t enjoy the nation the way any other tourist would.

“The last time I was there as a senator, I still had the option of wandering through the Old City of Jerusalem. That option becomes much trickier once you’re actually president,” President Obama said, adding that his tight security detail makes it hard for him to move around as he wishes.

So Obama has a plan straight out of a cheesy sitcom — putting on a fake mustache and going around Israel incognito.

“Sometimes I have this fantasy that I can put on a disguise, wear a fake mustache and I can wander through Tel Aviv and go to a bar and have a conversation,” Obama said in the taped interview.

Obama said he used to love traveling, especially the “spontaneous interactions” he had on the road. He said he loved sitting around a cafe talking, but those days are over now.

“You can’t just slip out and interact with people without having a bunch of guys with machine guns with you,” he said.

Obama has quite a visit planned. In the 48-hour trip to Israel, Obama will be cramming in meetings with diplomats and visits to historic sites.

“My goal on this trip is to listen,” Obama said. “I intend to meet with Bibi (Netanyahu) … I intend to meet with Fayyad and Abu Mazen (Abbas) and to hear from them what is their strategy, what is their vision, where do they think this should go?”

Obama even has time for dinner with a beauty queen. During the trip Obama will be meeting with Miss Israel, Yityish Aynaw, who happens to be the first black Israeli to hold the title. No word if Obama will wear his fake mustache to the meeting.
