Jillian Michaels On Motherhood: This Is Hard!

Jillian Michaels is as tough as they come when it’s on the workout mat, but the Biggest Loser trainer gets soft when it comes to infants in diapers.

The reality show fitness guru is the new mom to two children, Phoenix and Lukensia. The kids came in a non-traditional fashion, with Michaels’ partner Heidi Rhodes giving birth to Pheonix in May 2012 and 2-year-old Lukensia being adopted just a few weeks before the birth.

The 39-year-old Jillian Michaels said the little ones have run her energy dry.

“I get up at 7 am — after being up all night with the baby — and run around trying to get both kids diaper-changed, dressed and fed. Finally I’ll shower, and before I know it, I’ve got 50 emails to answer, and I need to leave for work,” Michaels told the April issue of Fitness magazine, on newsstands now. “At the end of the day, I come home, and I’m like, ‘OK, let me bathe you, change you, feed you, read you books, put you to bed’ — wait, how am I supposed to do all this? Son of a b***h, this is hard!”

Dealing with the terrible twos has been particularly tough for Jillian Michaels.

“Everything right now is ‘Lu do, Lu do.’ She wants to do everything herself, but it means you have to sit there for 20 minutes while she tries to put on a shirt,” Michaels said.

Raising two young children has also caused some tension between her and Rhodes, Michaels said.

“It kills me because I’ve got to go to work. Heidi gets mad at me: ‘How else is she going to learn how to put on her shirt?’ or ‘Don’t rush her — you’re rushing her!’ It’s brutal, but I’m really trying. I guarantee it’s going to be their number one issue in therapy.”

As if her children didn’t keep her busy enough, Jillian Michaels decided to end her two-year hiatus and return to The Biggest Loser for its 14th season. She’s also been on tour promoting her new fitness and weight loss book,

“Every day I tell myself how blessed I am. I have a great life. I can’t bitch about it, because this is what I wanted,” Jillian Michaels said. “I just thought I’d be able to manage it better.”
