Tom Hardy Hugs And Kisses A Puppy, Becomes Tom Softy [Photos]
Move over, Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Tom Hardy hugging and kissing a puppy is our celebrity meme of the day.
Hardy is currently on the set of Animal Rescue in Brooklyn, New York, and spent some time in-between takes hugging and kissing his canine cutie of a co-star.
Despite brutal portrayals of characters like Bane for The Dark Knight Rises and real-life English criminal Charles Bronson in Bronson, Hardy seems to have quite a soft side, and appears to be bonding with this adorable little puppy nicely.
Animal Rescue is described as a crime/drama film which centers around a lost pit bull, a wannabe scam artist, and a killing of some kind.
Hardy stars as a bartender who stumbles upon the pit bull, which brings him together with the leading female character, played by Noomi Rapace. The bar he works at also just happens to be owned by the Chechin mob.
Animal Rescue is directed by Michael Roskam, and also stars Sopranos alum James Gandolfini as Tom’s cousin and the bar’s manager.
Roskam recently directed another animal-themed crime film, 2012’s Bullhead, which was a nominee for best foreign language film at last year’s Oscar awards.
Fun fact: Animal Rescue is based on a short story by Dennis Lehane, an author of several other novels that were eventually adapted into film. Ben Affleck’s Gone Baby Gone, Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island, and Clint Eastwood’s Mystic River were all based on Lehane novels.
