Ariel Winter just confessed to her fans what her “favorite show ever” is, and it’s surprisingly not Modern Family. Instead, the brunette bombshell seems to have slightly darker tastes, admitting that her guilty binge-show is Law and Order: SVU.

The actress shared some behind the scenes pictures on set, as she was a guest star on one of the episodes. Winter confessed in her caption that she was such a fan, she jumped at the chance to appear without even reading the invite email when she received it.

She added that the role had been a challenge for her, as it was very different from the parts she has played before, most notably, book worm Alex Dunphy on Modern Family. Winter continued to explain that her character, whose name is Reagan, explored the difficulties of being a “credible” witness to police in the aftermath of a sexual assault, especially if drugs or alcohol were involved before the attack.

Winter also expressed her deepest gratitude to Mariska Hargitay for being both a warm presence on a dark set, as well as offering Winter incredible advice for her acting technique. The Sofia the First star heaped praise on the Olivia Benson actress, saying that Hargitay cared deeply about everyone and people like her were rare in the industry.

Winter then uploaded several pictures to document her experience as an SVU guest star. In the first photo, she held a clapperboard that read The Darkest Journey Home, the title of Winter’s episode. As it was filmed several weeks ago, she still had her red hair.

The second picture showed the California girl at a breakfast table, in what appears to be the middle of a scene with Hargitay.

The third upload is a picture of Winter and Hargitay smiling together. Wearing no makeup, Winter let her natural beauty shine through in the stunning, fresh-faced shot.

Next is a picture of Winter looking stunning while sitting in a Law & Order: SVU director’s chair. With a crochet top and plaid skirt, she stuns as she looked over her shoulder towards the camera.

The fifth is another picture mid-scene where Winter appears to be filming at the police station set. The last picture is yet another one where she is smiling with Hargitay, although in this one Winter was wearing a bright yellow top as Hargitay put her arm around the younger woman.

Tomorrow night 10/3 @ 10pm PDT I am guest starring on my FAVORITE SHOW EVER Law & Order: SVU @nbcsvu . I've seen every episode of this show and when I got the email about guest staring in the episode (entitled The Darkest Journey Home) I didn't even need to open it before saying yes. It was a challenge for me in many ways, both personally and professionally. I was so nervous and eager because I wanted to do my best alongside such ridiculously talented people. It was an absolute honor to work with their entire cast and crew (EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO WORKS ON IT IS EFFING AWESOME), and I couldn’t be more grateful that I was entrusted to play Reagan. Reagan is wildly different from any character I’ve played. She's special to me because she’s a realistic person. She’s not perfect, she's still figuring herself out. She likes to go out and drink and experiment, and like many of us, she struggles with accepting herself and being honest. The episode wrestles with the restrictions of being a “credible” victim/witness. Making mistakes, or experimenting with things some may frown upon, does not mean you should be an open target for sexual assault. NOTHING anyone does could EVER possibly warrant that. It was a challenge to bring this all to life, because I have a fear of failure and a hard time relinquishing control. Like many people, it was hard for me to accept change and criticism. But the amazing guidance of @therealmariskahargitay & Jean, our director, helped me break down walls and look at the material in a new way. Mariska worked with me not only as an actress but as a person, and I feel I have grown immensely from the experience. The amount of care and interest she showed in me as a person was amazing. She was truly interested in my life story and always made me feel heard. She was honest and gave me some of the most accurate advice I've ever been given. She pushed me as an actress and as a person. I couldn't be luckier I had this experience. People like her are RARE in and out of this industry. She cares deeply about everyone. She care about her show. Most importantly she cares about representing and doing justice by the brave people that relate to the stories. ❤️

“So pumped!!! Make all your dreams come true! Proud of you!” gushed fellow actor and producer Rob Gough.

“Omg I can’t wait to watch…” added Kip Zachary.

“You’re awesome and I’m sure it shows yet again in this episode!” echoed a third fan of the actress.

The episode airs tonight, October 3. Winter has also been raising eyebrows for activities outside of her acting. She recently admitted her “fantasy” while wearing a black leather dress in another Instagram upload.
