Justin Bieber’s mother reportedly wants Selena Gomez and her son to reunite, but it seems Gomez may have answered that question in a dance video set to Dustin Tavella’s “Everybody Knows,” which includes the tag “Your boyfriend is a douchebag/ And everybody knows. “
So is 20-year-old Gomez sending a clear diss to her ex-Bieber?
In the video, the Wizards of Wavery Place alum certainly has a knowing smile that matches her unfamiliar hoodie style, as she and four other baggily dressed girls dance their way through the musical diss.
A nod to Bieber’s love of hip-hop styling? Only Gomez knows.
She and Bieber reportedly called time on their two year on-off relationship just before the New Year. But whether that split is definitive is anyone’s guess.
Less than three weeks after the couple separated, Gomez sang a rendition of another Justin’s brokenhearted ode “Cry Me A River” at a private concert for UNICEF.
At the time she introduced the song to the crowd, saying: “I’ve been through a lot the past few months. It’s been weird and sad and cool,” before adding, “this song definitely speaks to me.”
A source at the event reportedly said Gomez “seemed so angry” during her performance.
It’s also possible the video is part of Gomez’s recent reinvention post-Disney a la Spring Breakers, in which she plays one of four co-eds who rob a restaurant to pay for their spring break trip.
Recently revealing that she is also stepping out of her comfort zone musically, she said of her upcoming album. “I’m a little bit more mouthy [now],” she said of her new album. “I’m a little bit older. I’ve got a little more sass. [I’m] telling a lot more, too.”
Of Bieber’s now legendary London exploits which began with his worst birthday and ended with an expletive-filled row with a paparazzo, a source reportedly said:
“Selena has kept an eye on Justin in the news and just laughed and laughed. She doesn’t give a s**t anymore. Justin is crazy and she doesn’t want to be his mom anymore. She feels so free and loves hanging out with her girlfriends. He’s weird and she doesn’t find his behavior hot or anything. She just wants a man who has his s**t together, and not a weird boy.”
That video is starting to look more and more like a Dear John.
What you do you think? Is Selena Gomez’s dance-off a diss to Bieber — and if so — is it called for?
