I seeeeee you: New sniper rifle released for Wii

Despite the avalanche of plastic add-ons released for the Wii to date, this is the first sniper rifle add-on I’ve seen for the console (left). It comes from CTA Digital, and features a removable stock, barrel, sniper scope and stand.

It’ll be $40 when it launches on January 20, which isn’t such a bad price. After all, the Wii has some rather good lightgun games, and by slotting your Wii Remote into this sniper rifle shell, you can blast things up while pretending to be Léon (the being-a-sniper bit, not the questionable-relationship-with-a-12-year-old-girl bit). It’s certainly a lot cooler than some other Wii gun shells.

Also from CTA, and designed for the PlayStation 3: an AK-47 shell that looks nothing like an AK-47 (pictured right). This add-on comes with its own built-in joystick, D-pad and buttons, so you don’t need a controller to play with this. No word on price yet, however.

And finally, for Xbox 360 owners: uh, nothing. Sorry, guys.
