Star Trek Into Darkness just landed a third teaser trailer.
Star Trek Into Darkness is just over two months from theatrical release, and one more teaser trailer has been released, shown below.
After an unexpected act of terrorism from within, the crew of The Enterprise is called back home to Earth. Captain Kirk defies regulations and leads his crew on a manhunt to capture an unstoppable force of destruction and bring those responsible to justice.
The teaser trailer starts with an erupting volcano and people running from what appears to be a red roofed building across a field of red grain of some kind as the soundtrack booms. Two of the people are Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) and McCoy (Karl Urban). One yells as he runs, "I hate this!"
The other responds, "I know you do!"
Then we get a panoramic sweep of some futuristic buildings as what looks like a shuttle craft flies out toward the camera and off to the side. Cut once more to a scene of Captain Kirk being chewed out by his superior, "You have any idea what a pain you are?"
Captain Kirk responds, "I think so, sir."
Then it cuts back to Kirk and McCoy running through the grain field again. McCoy yells, "Jim! The beach is that way!" The two proceed to jump off a cliff toward wild waters below.
It cuts again to Captain Kirk getting chewed out, "You think the rules don't apply to you because you disagree with them."
Next, we see Kirk and someone else preparing in futuristic space suits to get launched through space around some spacecraft.
The next scene shows our villain (Benedict Cumberbatch) staring at the camera out of a calm crowd right before an explosion erupts in the middle of the futuristic city. A voice-over says, "By now all of you heard what happened in London." We then see Cumberbatch through a decorated curved window.
Cut to Captain Kirk telling his superior, "He's a fugitive and I wanna take him out."
We then see a spacecraft careening away from an explosion in a larger spacecraft as Kirk yells, "Hold on!"
Spock (Zachary Quinto) starts arguing with him, "Captain, this ship, it won't fit."
They continue the argument as the ship scrapes through a gap. Kirk says, "I told you we'd fit."
Spock responds, "I am not sure that qualifies."
The spacecraft then flies toward a field of tall rocks and thick clouds. We see Spock strapping into a belt harness as Sulu (John Cho) yells, "We gonna do this, we gotta do it now!"
Spock then drops out on the harness into a lava infested area of the ground. We then see Scotty (Simon Pegg) being surprised by a giant fish outside a viewport as someone says, "Ready to swim."
Uhura (Zoe Saldana) stands in a skin-tight red wetsuit, "I'm ready."
We then see what looks like a ship emerging from foam as Kirk says, "Punch it." and The Enterprise rockets out into space.
Someone skydives into the city as a voice-over says, "Tell me this is gonna work."
Kirk's superior tells him, "I believe in you."
Captain Kirk grabs McCoy by the shoulders as we rushes by, "Come on. It's gonna be fun."
Random mayhem starts playing as the title pops in, "Star Trek Into Darkness."
Star Trek Into Darkness will be in theaters May 17, 2013. Are you excited to see it?
