Josh Duhamel Will Appear In ‘Transformers 4’

Josh Duhamel will make a cameo in Transformers 4.

Although Michael Bay is currently revamping the franchise for a younger generation, the actor revealed that the director will work his character into the storyline in some capacity.

“They’re going [with a] younger [cast, but Michael] said he wants to put me in it someplace,” Josh Duhamel explained. “I got to do three of those. It changed my career, it changed my life getting to be a part of something that big, so I’m grateful for even doing the first three of them.”

Duhamel portrayed Captain William Lennox in the original Transformers trilogy. Although Michael Bay is looking to make some changes to the formula for the next go-around, apparently he wants to get Josh in on the action.

Michael Bay has big plans for Transformers 4. In addition to changing up the cast, the director revealed that he intends to make a few changes to the robots themselves.

“We’re going to start off smaller. There’s a brand new cast,” Bay said. “To freshen the franchise we’ve redesigned everything from top to bottom.”

He added, “The history of the first three movies is still there, we start four years later and there’s a reason why we’re meeting a new cast. Mark [Wahlberg] is really excited about it and it’s a great redesign.”

Josh Duhamel recently completed work on directors Kevin Goetz and Michael Goetz’s thriller Scenic Route. The film also stars Dan Fogler (Balls of Fury, Fanboys) and Miracle Laurie (Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse). The film explores what happens when two friends become trapped in the desert together. The film recently debuted at SXSW.

The actor is also slated to appear alongside Ali Larter and Emmy Rossum in director George C. Wolfe’s You’re Not You. The movie is based on the novel by author Michelle Wildgen.
