Jennie Garth Shares Weight Loss Secret


Jennie Garth dropped weight and kept it off, and now the actress is telling everyone her simple secret — keeping a good schedule.

After losing 30 pounds, Garth has been showing off her newly trimmed body and talking about what it took for her to get there. She said that while a strict diet and exercise plan is key, she’s not too strict, allowing herself some indulgences like sweets once in a while.

“Maintenance is definitely challenging. It’s something you have to do daily,” Garth said at a charity auction in New York for the organization Autism Speaks.

“You have to remind yourself what your priorities are,” Jennie Garth told People magazine about her weight loss secret, “and remind yourself about staying healthy and living a healthy life.”

Jennie Garth has been able to maintain her weight loss in the midst of a very stressful year. There has been some bad parts, like her split from husband Peter Facinelli in March after 11 years of marriage.

Garth then went from having a quiet marriage (at least by Hollywood standards) to becoming front-page tabloid news anytime she was spotted with a new man. She endured rumors of many different potential boyfriends, including former Beverly Hills 90210 co-star Luke Perry. Jennie is now dating Big Gigantic drummer Jeremy Salken.

But there’s also been plenty of good things to come to Jennie in the past year, including her own reality series on CMT, Jennie Garth: Little Bit Country.

Jennie Garth also been busy with charity work as well, like the recent celebrity auction sponsored by Swiss chocolatier Lindt USA.

“As a mother of three daughters, I look forward to special moments in life, and combining our Easter traditions with giving back is the perfect way to celebrate this spring,” Garth said.

While she may enjoy a chocolate now and then, Jennie Garth is dedicated to her fitness routine. Her regimen includes a gluten-free diet and daily workouts, but said that doesn’t have to mean going to the gym.

In addition to her discipline with her diet, she maintains a gluten-free lifestyle and enjoys daily exercise.

“Every day, I try to schedule something in, whether it’s hiking with my dog or jogging or going to the gym,” said Garth. “Those are the things I’m focused on right now.”

That focus seems to be working, at least when it comes to Jennie Garth’s weight.
