Brody Jenner Joins Kardashians Show Just As Kim Is Leaving

Brody Jenner is set to join the Kardashians.

The 29-year-old son of Bruce Jenner will appear with his step-siblings on the eighth season of the reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians, The Associated Press reported.

Brody Jenner said Monday that he’s excited about the opportunity to join the Kardashians and is looking forward to “getting to know (his) extended family a little better.”

Brody will bring quite a long and rich reality television resume to his appearance on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Jenner has made a name for himself through the self-promoting world of reality television, largely through his work on MTV’s with The Hills and then Bromance.

But Jenner was actually one of the pioneers of the modern era of reality television. In 2005 he was the creator, producer, and star of the Fox show The Princes of Malibu. Though the show didn’t last long, it helped usher in an era where the young, rich, and decadent could find an eager audience.

Even Jenner’s love life is filled with reality stars. He has dated both Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari, veterans of the Laguna Beach/The Hills franchise, as well as relationships with Jayde Nicole and Lindsay Lohan. In early 2012 he and singer Avril Lavigne called it quits after a nearly two-year relationship.

Since the split Jenner has been doing some reflection on his life, a source said last year.

“He’s trying to figure out to do with his life,” the person said.

It’s not clear how much time Brody Jenner will be spending with the Kardashians on camera. His representative told Us Weekly that Jenner “is joining the show but may not be in every episode. It depends on the storyline.”Jenner was already shot some scenes with his pregnant stepsister Kim Kardashian in Beverly Hills back in February.

Interestingly enough, Brody Jenner may be joining the show just as Kim Kardashian is leaving. In a recent interview with Du Jour magazine, Kim said her ninth season of the show will be her final one.

After spending nearly all of her adult life in front of a camera, Kim said it’s time for a change. The fact that she and boyfriend Kanye West are pregnant with their first child likely plays a role in that.

“It’s all about finding things that really excite you and motivate you and spark you all over again,” Kardashian said. “I’m realizing that no matter what, if you go into something with all these expectations and plans, once you’re actually living it, it could be completely different.”

Though his appearance is highly anticipated by fans, this won’t exactly be the first time that Brody Jenner has joined the Kardashians. He made some previous cameos on Keeping Up With the Kardashians as well as its spinoff, Kourtney & Kim Take New York.
