X-Men: Days of Future Past has added The Intouchables star Omar Sy to the cast.
The acclaimed French actor was recently added to the cast of the upcoming sequel. It’s currently unclear who he will portray in the film.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the news of Omar Sy’s addition to the X-Men: Days of Future Past team was announced by director Bryan Singer on Twitter.
The filmmaker wrote:
“Thrilled to welcome the brilliant Omar Sy from the amazing film ‘The Intouchables’ to the cast of ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past.’ “
The X-Men sequel added Game of Thrones alum Peter Dinklage to the cast last month. Variety explains that Dinklage will play one of the central villains in the story. However, these rumors have not been confirmed by Singer or 20th Century Fox as of this writing.
Since X-Men: Days of Future Past brings together a number of actors from previous installments in the franchise, Singer is interested in getting Halle Berry in on the action. According to the Deccan Herald, nothing about her involvement has been set in stone just yet.
The filmmaker explained:
“I can’t say. I don’t know yet. And it’s not necessarily a deal making aspect at all. I want to make sure it’ll make sense. But I love working with her.”
Halle Berry said she is 90 percent sure she will reprise her role as Storm in the upcoming sequel. Singer is also interested in getting Famke Janssen and James Marsden to return to the series. Filming on the flick is currently scheduled for April 15.
X-Men: Days of Future Past already sports an impressive cast. In addition to Peter Dinklage and Omar Sy, the film will also feature Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Jason Flemyng, Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, and Shawn Ashmore.
