Elijah Wood and Sasha Grey are featured on the latest poster for the upcoming thriller Open Window.

Crafted by Timecrimes director Nacho Vigalondo, the film follows one man as he attempts to rescue an actress from the clutches of a notorious villain. According to GeekTyrant, the action unfolds on a laptop that is connected to the internet.

The film was reportedly filmed using a total of 12 different types of cameras. In addition to security and satellite cameras, Open Window also makes use of webcams, headsets, tablets, mobile phones, and 3D mapping cameras.

Vigalondo’s Timecrimes was championed for its unique and inventive storytelling. With Open Window, it would appear the director is taking things one step further.

The director explained:

“The action will be followed on the screen of a laptop connected to the Internet – an approach that has excited us all from the outset. Something like this means going beyond high concept films like ‘Paranormal Activity,’ ‘Cloverfield,’ or ‘Chronicle.’ Instead of simulating a home video camera, we will be representing a computer desktop. The movie screen becomes a computer screen, and the spectator becomes the protagonist of this adventure.”

Vigalondo added that the point of showing everything through the laptop is to make the viewers the protagonists.

Elijah Wood will star as the guy who is risking his life to save the woman. Ex-porn actress and The Girlfriend Experience co-star Sasha Grey will portray the damsel in distress.

According to the folks at Fangoria, Open Window doesn’t have a release date just yet. It’s currently unclear when Elijah Wood and Sasha Grey fans will be able to experience this cutting-edge film for themselves.
