Man Attacks Wife With Meat Cleaver: Video Released [Video]

A man has been charged with attacking his wife with a meat cleaver. A surveillance video, which captured the brutal attack, has been released to the public.

Ming Guang Huang, age 28, was arrested yesterday in Manhattan’s Chinatown following an attack on his wife. The man reportedly hacked his wife in the head with a meat cleaver on Sunday morning. The attack was witnessed by a group of firefighters who rushed to assist the injured woman.

As reported by CBS, one of the firefighters, Jose Ortiz, witnessed Huang swinging the meat cleaver up to ten times during the attack. Ortiz was able to apprehend Huang, allowing his 23-year-old wife to flee.

Ortiz’s colleague Shane Clark followed the woman to a local restaurant. Clark states that the woman was obviously frightened as she fled the scene:

“I ran up to the commotion, and I could see that she was bleeding heavily all over her body, and so I ran back, I grabbed a trauma bag, and at that point, she was sprinting down the block. I think she was panicked, more than anything else.”

Huang was arrested for attacking his wife with a meat cleaver. He is being charged with attempted murder, assault, and possession of a deadly weapon. Authorities state that Huang is currently undergoing psychiatric evaluation.

Huang’s wife is currently in stable condition in Bellevue Hospital. In addition to a “deep cut” in her head, the young woman received cuts to her back and abdomen.

As reported by the Miami Herald, the entire incident was captured by surveillance cameras at a local shop. In the video Huang can be seen attaching his wife with a meat cleaver as firefighters arrived to save her life.
