iPhone Game Downloads Could Break Records This Week


Game downloads for iPhones were down 12% from January to November 2009, however Apple may soon be able to rejoice as a record number of iPhone game downloads are expected to occur this week.

According to iPhone game community PlayHaven and the mobile ad exchange network MobClix, the Christmas Day to New Years Day totals could be as much as 28 times higher than the same time period last year.

Those numbers, based on various consumer metrics also includes insight into the 2010 buying year, where PlayHaven expects that 25% of all games downloaded to users devices will originate from sources not associated with iTunes and Apple. [SlipperyBrick]
