‘Evil Dead’ Remake Drops New Images, Poster [Photos]


A handful of images and a new poster have been released for the upcoming Evil Dead remake.

Director and co-writer Fede Alvarez’s remake of Sam Raimi’s horror classic is shaping up to be one of the year’s most popular genre movies. Although fans were initially standoffish about the forthcoming film, the trailer seemed to put a lot of fears to rest.

In an effort to keep the buzz and positive word-of-mouth building, the folks at FilmDistrict have unleashed a new batch of images from Evil Dead remake. Included in the batch is yet another poster designed to get you feverishly excited about the film’s release.

While the producers are certainly hoping their film proves popular with the horror crowd, it remains to be seen if the remake is the “most terrifying film” the world will ever experience.

The film has been officially described as follows:

“In the much anticipated remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.”

Those who caught the red band trailer for the Evil Dead remake were shocked by the amount of gore on-display in the clip. What’s even more remarkable about the footage is that director Fede Alvarez claims that there’s not a single computer-generated FX shot in the entire film.

He added:

“Everything you will see is real, which was really demanding. This was a very long shoot, 70 days of shooting at night. There’s a reason people use CGI it’s cheaper and faster, I hate that. We researched a lot of magic tricks and illusion tricks. [Like] how you would make someone’s arm disappear.”
