Ashlee Arnau: Cheerleader’s Half Court Trick Shot Gets Her Globetrotters Invite [Video]

Hattiesburg, MS — Ashlee Arnau, the cheerleader whose somersault trick-shot video created an internet sensation, will perform with the Harlem Globetrotters.

Arnau, if you missed it, is the amazing William Carey University cheerleader who did a front flip from half court while picking up a basketball and hitting a mind-blowing shot at the same time. See first video below.

Her incredible trick shot at halftime of the men’s basketball game went viral on YouTube and has already received two million page views. Practice makes perfect: Arnau has been attempting that shot at ever home game, but it finally went in this time.

The Globetrotters were some impressed that they invited her to perform her trick shot at their game next Wednesday in Mississippi. She repeated her incredible shot in a Globetrotters’ practice (see second video below) the next day at the nearby University of Southern Mississippi’s Reed Green Coliseum.

According to ESPN, “[Arnau] said she usually tries it about four or five times during the halftime show. She nailed it on her fifth attempt Thursday night — during the last home game of the season.”

Arnau, a junior, plays soccer and runs track for William Carey University, and told ESPN that “the front-flip shot was a takeoff on the front-flip throw-in that soccer players do.” She is pursing a degree in nursing.
