New Hugh Jackman Photo In ‘The Wolverine’ Released

A brand new image has appeared online of Hugh Jackman in his X-Men spin-off movie, The Wolverine.

The promotional photograph was uploaded to the film’s Facebook page alongside the caption, “The past is always behind you, but the memories still remain.”

Jackman is stood in a shadow in front of a window, which a strong blue light shines through. The Les Miserables star is wearing all black, and is sporting Wolverine’s patented sideburns and short back and sides haircut.

The Wolverine was filmed in Sydney and Japan last year, and Walk The Line’s James Mangold directed the piece. The Wolverine is scheduled to be released on July 26th, and will follow the mutated fighters journey to Japan and his training sessions with a samurai warrior.

This will be Jackman’s sixth appearance as Wolverine in the X-Men series, which includes performances in 2000’s X-Men, 2003’s X2, 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand, 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, 2011’s X-Men: First Class, and now The Wolverine.

Bryan Singer has recently confirmed that Jackman’s Wolverine will also appear in the sequel to Matthew Vaughn’s 2011 superhero film, which will be called X-Men: Days Of Future Past and is set to start filming in April.

Jackman is currently preparing for this year’s Oscars ceremony which is taking place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday. Jackman is nominated in the best actor’s category where he will come up against Bradley Cooper for his performance in Silver Linings Playbook, and the favorite, Lincoln’s Daniel Day-Lewis.
