‘Spring Breakers’ Releases Raunchy Red Band Trailer [Video]

Writer-director Harmony Korine’s Spring Breakers has dropped a sexy new trailer loaded from top to bottom with all sorts of bikini-clad debauchery.

Compared to the other movies in Korine’s peculiar filmography, Spring Breakers is about as mainstream as this filmmaker will probably ever get. Although his flare for the bizarre has been toned down a bit since the 2009 drama Trash Humpers, it would appear Korine’s appreciation for the darker things in life is on full display.

In order to further prepare moviegoers for the film’s upcoming March release date, a new red band trailer is now available online. You can find the latest clip from the flick embedded below.

The official synopsis reads:

” ‘Spring Breakers’ tells the story of four sexy college girls as they plan to fund their spring break getaway by burglarizing a fast food shack. But that’s only the beginning…

“At a motel room rager, fun reaches its legal limit and the girls are arrested and taken to jail. Hungover and clad only in bikinis, the girls appear before a judge but are bailed out unexpectedly by Alien, an infamous local thug who takes them under his wing and leads them on the wildest Spring Break trip in history. Rough on the outside but with a soft spot inside, Alien wins over the hearts of the young Spring Breakers, and leads them on a Spring Break they never could have imagined.”

Harmony Korine

What make’s Korine’s latest feature much more notable than his previous ventures is the inclusion of several big name actors and actresses, including Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, and an almost unrecognizable James Franco as thuggish gangster named Alien. It’s certainly a sharp contrast to the charter he plays in Disney’s Oz: The Great and Powerful.

The latest red band trailer has been embedded below. Due to the amount of language and sexy imagery, viewer discretion is strongly advised.

Harmony Korine’s Spring Breakers will arrive in New York and Los Angeles on March 15. The film is slated to open a little wider on March 22.
