Jerry Jones New Bus Has Three Big-Screen Televisions, Costs Close To $2 Million
Jerry Jones has a new bus to take him to the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, and the wealthy owner of the Dallas Cowboys won’t exactly be rolling in incognito.
The bus is decked out in blue and silver and adorned with a giant star on it, one that will be used to carry team personnel around town for meetings and scouting. Jerry Jones’ new bus, dubbed “The Elegant Lady,” is believed to have cost somewhere between $1.5 million and $2.5 million dollars, National Football Post reported.
Jerry Jones won’t be traveling to Indianapolis in his new bus. Instead he’ll be flying in and then using the giant bus as a base of operations this week.
The bus already made its debut earlier this month in New Orleans for the Super Bowl, and Larry Allen sat on one of its three plush coaches watching in a large flatscreen television when he learned he would be inducted in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The old bus was a hit as well, the Dallas Morning News reported. Driver Emory Tyler used it to transport President Clinton and Olympic soccer teams before going to work for the Cowboys.
He recalled one stop in a town called Nowhere, New Mexico, that looked to be entirely empty. Tyler parked the bus overnight and in the morning found a crowd had gathered.
“People were there with kids in their Cowboys pajamas wanting to take pictures of me and the bus,” Tyler said. “I know I’m not a celebrity, but people want my autograph anyway. A lot.”
In case some may be thinking that Jerry Jones’ new bus is just for show, consider this — Tyler reportedly logged more than two million miles on his old one.
