Hillary Clinton’s Next Gig: Paid Speeches

Hillary Clinton’s next job will be giving paid speeches, according to a report on Monday. The former first lady stepped down as the US Secretary of State earlier this month.

Now she is joining the Harry Walker Agency and will likely earn a six-figure salary. Despite the huge salary, Politico reports that Clinton will likely not charge when she speaks on behalf of causes she supports.

The former first lady will also be donating some of her earnings to charity. The Huffington Post notes that the agency confirmed Hillary Clinton’s new job, saying:

“We are proud to share the news that Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has joined the Harry Walker Agency exclusively for her speaking engagements.”

Clinton will likely join the speaking circuit later this Spring. Clinton’s salary will make her one of the highest-paid speakers in the circuit’s history. It is also likely that the former secretary of state is exploring book options. She also plans to be involved in nonprofit work.

Several people have asked Hillary if she plans to run for president in 2016. The one-time presidential candidate was beaten by Barack Obama in the 2008 Democratic primary.

Clinton has not confirmed or denied the rumors surrounding a possible presidential run. She has, however, expressed an interest in stepping away from politics for a time. Her latest book will likely be a memoir that focuses on her experiences as secretary of state.

Former President Bill Clinton is also represented by Harry Walker Agency. Other political figures in the agency include Al Gore, Dick Cheney, Joe Lieberman, Howard Dean, and Karl Rove.
