‘Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D’ Trailer Arrives Online [Video]

The trailer for Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D has arrived online after premiering in the Nintendo eShop last week.

Since the game was a pretty big hit for the Nintendo Wii back in 2010, the company is hoping to replicate this success when the title arrives for the Nintendo 3DS later this year. According to Computer and Video Games, fans in Japan, Europe, and North America can expect the game Donkey Kong to drop this summer.

Although Returns is being re-released for the Nintendo 3DS, gamers should expect more than just a simple port. Ubergizmo explains that the game will feature a completely new adventure. The company is also reportedly rebuilding the title from the group up. Chances are some tweaks are being made to tailor the experience to the 3DS.

As far as the release date is concerned, Nintendo hasn’t dropped a specific date. Right now Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D will arrive on the handheld system sometime this summer. The trailer for the upcoming re-release has been included below.

The latest installment in the Donkey Kong Country franchise was just one of several games unveiled during the recent Nintendo Direct. The company also announced that Animal Crossing: New Leaf is also headed to the Nintendo 3DS later this year. The game was released in Japan last year.

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata also revealed new DLC for the hit platformer New Super Mario Bros. U. Centered around Mario’s brother, the add-on entitled New Super Luigi U would essentially transform 80-plus levels into an entirely Luigi-centric experience. However, the company explained it could be a while before fans get their hands on the expansion pack.

The trailer for the latest Donkey Kong game has been embedded below.
