Kobe Bryant Ribs NBA About Chris Paul Trade On Twitter

Kobe Bryan still has an opinion about a blocked trade that, had it gone through would have seen Chris Paul on a different Los Angeles basketball team. The NBA was especially protective of Chris Paul back when he was a member of the New Orleans Hornets.

Quite a bit of drama played out during a tense couple of weeks that saw several trades involving Chris Paul get rejected by the league, who owned the Hornets at the time. The NBA even rejected a deal to the Clippers (Paul’s current home) before they eventually accepted it.

The rejected deal that Kobe Bryant is interested in is one that would have seen Paul come to the Lakers. That deal was agreed upon by both sides before the league stepped in and nixed it. Bryant certainly has a sense of humor about the whole thing, sending out a tweet during the All-Star weekend events.

FanSided.com reports that Kobe took a picture of his daughter and Paul’s son playing basketball together. That picture was accompanied by the tweet:

“At least lil @CP3 and baby Mamba can play together NBA can’t veto this one Ha!”

USAToday remarked that the trade that was blocked opened the way for the one to Los Angeles that went through and that trade has made the Clippers an NBA title contender. The Clippers, who are often referred to as LA’s “other” team, currently boast a 39-17 record and sit in third place in the Western Conference standings. The Lakers meanwhile are 25-29 and would miss the playoffs if the season ended today.

Kobe Bryant’s Lakers team is currently in 10th place in the West and are 3.5 games behind the 8th spot in the standings. The top eight teams in both the Eastern and Western Conferences get to go onto the playoffs.

Do you think Kobe’s tweet was all in good fun, or is he still a bit angry about the rejected trade?
