Canon EOS Rebel XT Falls From 3000 Feet, Survives

We’re pretty sure we didn’t see a military grade rating on the Canon EOS Rebel XT, but don’t tell Calin Leucuta that, rumor has it their phone fell from 3,000 feet and survived in rather decent condition.

Calin was apparently taking pictures from 3,000 feet when his camera mount broke off, sending his XT scrambling to the ground at a terminal velocity of approximately 100mph.

After a 15-20 minute search for the camera, Calin found his Rebel XT and aside from a crack to the body and a bit of what he calls “jerkiness” with the zoom lens, the camera appears to be in fine working condition.

Unfortunately there’s no video to prove the story, just some pictures of the unit after the fall. Although I once saw a DeWitt drill fall from nearly 20 stories and survive without a single problem, so it could have happened, you be the judge. [CanonRumors]
